No matter in which part of the world you talk to car enthusiasts, they all will have heard of the legendary mountain roads in Italy.
Located in the triangle between Italy, Austria and Switzerland names such as Stelvio, Umbrail and Gavia will give them sweaty palms and an itch in the lead foot.
Join us for your experience of a lifetime, we will take you along some of the most famous mountain passes and the most beautiful lakes Italy has to offer on a 4 day trip that you will never forget.
Day 1: Munich > Glurns
243km, 4 hours
Leaving the most northern city of Italy as we like to call Munich, we move through the foothills of the Alps with all the beautiful lush lakes, past the one and only ski resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen into Austria. We pass numerous well known ski towns such as Fiss Ladis and the macabre Reschensee with it’s sunk villages and the church steeple still reaching through the waters surface. The first night we will spend right at the foot of the legendary Stelvio in order to get a head start with the first daylight.

Day 2: Glurns > Bossico
230km, 4 hours
The second day starts with THE most legendary mountain pass: The Stelvio. No need to spend any more words on it, you probably have heard and read so many things about it, now is the time to experience it first hand. We will attack it in the break of day, depending on how quick we are we might even make it up and down twice, before we decent into Switzerland. Down in the valley lies next highlight: the one way tunnel to Livigno/Italy. No sports car tour would ever be complete without the open window soundcheck in this giant speaker tube. After Coffee in the duty free zone of Livigno we will head out the valley on the other end back up in the mountains until we come to a stop at the incredible Lago d’Iseo one of the many glacial lakes the region has to offer.

Day 3: Bossico > Cavalese
257km, 5 hours
This beautiful lake is only the warm up for what we are about to experience the next day. After getting up early to beat the traffic on a couple of smaller mountain roads we will turn east in the flats below to reach the southern end of the magnificent Lago di Garda. This is where all the famous Italian white wine comes from and it is easy to get hung up in the countless wineries tasting them all. But we got better things to do: catch the ferry (if the clearance of the cars is permitting) to cross the lake and enjoy the vista towards the mountainous northern end of the lake. Once we arrived on the eastern shores of the lake we will takle these mountains, foremost the Mt. Baldo, known for it’s richness in endemic plants and flowers and tiny mountain roads.

Day 4: Cavalese > Munich
400km, 7 hours
The last day will give you the chance to put to the test everything you have learned on the previous days. The longest and most divers leg of the trip will take you over numerous mountain passes and through famous towns such as Cortina d’Ampezzo and past the Großglockner mountain. Back in Austria it’s your choice to stay in the mundane town of Kitzbühel and rest up for a couple of days or follow the Autobahn into Germany back to where it all started.
